Care Instructions
Caring for your Silver
-
Silver will tarnish naturally over time with the oxygen in the air and will react to exposure to beauty products such as perfumes, certain cleaning products and chlorine from swimming pools.
-
Silver is a durable material that will last a lifetime and more if cared for with the right surface treatments.
-
Store your piece in a dry, air tight container, and/or in acid free tissue paper.
Polished Silver

-
Polished work can be cleaned with a silver cloth or silver polish (Goddards Silver Polish Foam is recommended) and a soft cloth. Please note that mirror polished pieces need to be cleaned with the greatest care ensuring the cloth is clean and particle free. Please rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Satin and Matt Surfaces
-
You should avoid using polishing cloths and creams, as this will increase the shine on the surface.
-
The best method for cleaning is silver dip or alternatively you can use warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush.

Home Remedy

A good home remedy to get rid of tarnish is to :
-
Line a bowl or pot with aluminum foil, shiny side up
-
Place tarnished silver onto aluminium foil, ensuring it touches the foil.
-
Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the silver (roughly 1 tbsp per 250ml water).
-
Pour boiling water over the mixture; it will bubble and create a chemical reaction.
-
Let it sit for 1–5 minutes, then remove with tongs, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a microfiber cloth.
